Jackson Arnold: 2022-2023 Gatorade National Football Player of The Year (Class of '23 Senior Season)
Jackson Arnold was thrust into the spotlight at Denton (Texas) Guyer during the state championship game of his freshman season when starter Eli Stowers was knocked out of the game with a knee injury. Guyer was shut out in that game. But Arnold used the game as motivation to develop into one of the top quarterbacks in the country. “I can just remember a young, big-eyed freshmen kid with hair hanging down on his face,” Guyer coach Rodney Webb told Spectrum News. “And I remember in that moment of time, this is going to kill him or make him stronger, and it made him stronger.” So much strong that Arnold led Guyer to the 2021 state title game with 3,931 yards passing and 34 touchdowns.
