After a program-defining win over defending Class 6A Division I state champion DeSoto, North Crowley head coach Ray Gates laid out a trap for his team to see. Several messages, including “NORTH CROWLEY IS THE BEST TEAM IN THE STATE” and “DON’T TAKE THE BAIT,” were inside the trap. “This week was the ultimate trap game,” Gates said. “You’re going into it – you beat one of the top teams in the state and the country. Normally, that sets you up for an opportunity to come out and not play your best. Trap games don’t exist if you know where the traps are.”
Texas High School Football: 6A Football: #23 Denton Guyer Vs Arlington Martin (2024)
Arlington Martin jumped on No. 21-ranked Guyer early, but the Wildcats rallied Friday to earn a 38-19 win in the 6A squads’ non-district showdown. Guyer leaned on its run game on the night with 308 of its 392 yards coming on the ground, led by senior running back Sterling Schneider racking up 22 carries for 219 yards and one touchdown. The Wildcats’ defense also forced four Martin turnovers with three fumbles and one interception. It was far from Guyer’s prettiest performance, but the program earned a win nonetheless. Guyer head coach Reed Heim was proud of the fight his team displayed in the contest.
Texas High School Football: 6A #23 Denton Guyer VS 5A #1 Aledo (2024)
The Bearcats had a chance to score a go-ahead touchdown in the final drive of the game but couldn’t overcome the draining clock. Aledo suffered it’s first loss since Sept. 2, 2022, when Denton Guyer defeated the Bearcats 44-14.
Texas 5A Division II Football: Abilene High Vs. Denton Ryan (Area Championship) (2023)
Abilene High knocks off Denton Ryan in second-round playoff game.
Dylan Slack threw two touchdown passes, and Jadrian Carrillo recovered a muffed punt in the end zone as Abilene High upended Denton Ryan 31-21 in a Region I-5A Division I area-round playoff game Friday at Crowley ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium.
Brayden Henry had a 1-yard TD run, and Naim Segura kicked a 32-yard field goal to propel the Eagles (10-2) into the Thanksgiving week.
AHS — moving on to the third round for the second consecutive year — will play Justin Northwest (10-2) in a region semifinal game at 7 p.m. Friday at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls. Northwest beat Amarillo Tascosa 41-0 on Friday night.

Texas 5A Division II Football: Abilene High Vs. El-Paso Hanks (2023)
The Abilene High Eagles made it clear they weren’t looking past El Paso Hanks on Thursday. They topped the Knights, 84-14.
Brayden Henry got the Eagles started with a 47-yard run on their first offensive play of the game.
The Black Shirt defense made the next big play on Hanks’ next possession. Tre Sharp intercepted the Knight’s pass and returned it for a touchdown. Abilene High’s defense forced four turnovers in the first half. Bryce Neves forced three all by himself. He stripped a receiver of the ball, he recoved a muffed kickoff, and he picked off a pass.

The Rock Hill (Frisco, TX) varsity football team lost Thursday's home conference game against Guyer (Denton, TX) by a score of 42-14.

The Guyer (Denton, TX) varsity football team lost Friday's home conference game against McKinney (TX) by a score of 37-20.
Texas 6A Football: #9 Denton Guyer Vs. #12 Allen (2023)
The Allen Eagles faced the Guyer Wildcats in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Allen took a 24-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Guyer. Allen's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Josiah Martin was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 170 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Allen's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Guyer, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Denton Guyer quarterback Isaac Harney threw five touchdowns on 310 yards as Guyer defeated Denton Braswell 56-28 in a District 5-6A.

Two losses before October has been a rarity for the Guyer football program, but that’s where the Wildcats sat coming into Week 5 after a tough loss in their District 5-6A opener against Prosper a week ago.
It’s also what made Friday night’s 55-13 thumping of Little Elm (1-4, 0-2 in district) that much more necessary, and all the sweeter, as Guyer (3-2, 1-1) nabbed its first district win of the season.

#1 Denton Guyer Vs. #4 Southlake Carroll (2022 Regional Final Championship)
The Oklahoma Sooners commit passed for 303 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 149 yards and four touchdowns to lead Denton Guyer to a 45-21 victory over Southlake Carroll in the UIL Class 6A Division II Region 1 Final on Saturday.
#1 Denton Guyer Vs. #23 Byron Nelson (2022 Regional Semi-Final Championship)
The Bobcats reached the regional round of the playoffs and faced a stacked squad from Denton Guyer. Nelson held the lead entering the fourth quarter, but Guyer rallied for a 43-36 victory on its way to an appearance in the state championship game.
The two met again on Saturday afternoon, and again at the Ford Center, but this time Guyer jumped out to a quick lead then held the Bobcats at arms length the rest of the way en route to a 59-41 win over the Bobcats in a Class 6A Division 2 regional showdown.
